HCR Update #5

Schedule:

Have completed General Debate and have moved into debate on the Stupak/Pitts Pro Life Amendment which preserves the Hyde Amendment. There is 20 minutes of debate scheduled.

Following debate on the amendment,will move to 1 hour of debate on the Republican Substitute. Then expect our final series of votes at approx. 10:00 p.m. on the amendment, Republican Substitute, Motion to Recommit and then final passage. Of Note… Typically Leader Boehner, Leader Hoyer and Speaker Pelosi have an unlimited time to speak so our timing remains a little up in the air.

Now up to 34 House Democrats who have publicly announce they will oppose the bill. Democrats can lose 40 of their Members without any Republican votes.
